The Hejnar PHOTO FX-E1 Modular L Bracket follows the concept of the Modular Hejnar Photo Universal Camera L Brackets previewed some months ago, but with a dedicated camera base plate and a dedicated L Side plate.

| The Fuji X-E1 L Bracket comes assembled, but as all Hejnar modular L Brackets the vertical plate may be removed very easily and operated as a simple base plate. The package includes: One assembled L bracket, one 1/4"-20 1/4 inch long captive style screw, one M3 stop screw, one M4 connecting screw and three Allen hex keys for all included screws. All screws are made of chromed stainless-steel. |

Chris Hejnars products are good but the are no better than any number of Chinese products designed for the same task, the only area where I see his products of any value are his conversion kits for Manfrotto Gear Heads,but then only he makes them !!!!!

ReplyDeleteAlthough this is a 6 year old post nothing has changed in the huge quality gap between Hejnar products (as well as other photography gear made in the USA) and the majority of Chinese clone makers.
The old saying "You get what you pay for" is best applied here.
There are only 2-3 Chinese manufacturers who can afford the quality and density of Aluminum blocks Hejnar uses, and for sure they are not listed between the cheap ones.
I hope I find the time to make an article illustrating cross section cuts of cheap Chinese alu brackets or plates side by side to Hejnar stuff. Although they might look similar from outside, the difference in material density inside is visible by naked eye.
Most Chinese products are forged, rather than CNCed from solid blocks.
Other than that, Hejnar as most US manufacturers keeps inventory of old models and spares and offers unparalleled after sales service.
Having said that, anyone is free to trust cheap Chinese products to hold their gear that costs thousands $, just to save a few bucks.
